Clif Harald, Executive Director of the Boulder Economic Council (BEC) of the Boulder Chamber, will move on from that role to reactivate his private consulting practice. The BEC is the economic vitality arm of the Boulder Chamber.
Harald has served as the BEC’s Executive Director for nine years, named to the position when the community was beginning its recovery from the Great Recession. He has been responsible for the BEC’s mission, to sustain Boulder’s economic vitality, and for carrying out the BEC’s work proactively supporting Boulder companies and industries and the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and startup businesses.
“It’s been a privilege to participate in Boulder’s uniquely dynamic economy. Leading the Boulder Chamber’s economic vitality program has been the most rewarding work of my career,” Harald said. He added, “Our economic vitality programming is solidly supported by local business and community leaders, a team of dedicated Chamber colleagues, and strong leadership from Boulder Chamber executives and its Board of Directors.”
John Tayer, Boulder Chamber President and CEO, said: “Clif has served the Boulder Chamber and our BEC investors with great distinction. He helped propel the Boulder Chamber forward in its status as a leading regional voice on economic trends and business support needs. At the same time, he built an economic development agency that sustains our local economy through detailed analysis, information sharing and direct business support. I will personally miss our daily partnership, but congratulate Clif on his legacy of accomplishment and look forward to seeing him thrive in his rejuvenated consulting role.”
Harald will assist the Boulder Chamber with its transition to a new BEC director. His employment with the Boulder Chamber will continue through the BEC’s signature Boulder Economic Summit event on June 11th. The Boulder Chamber team will be working in collaboration with its BEC investors and other community stakeholders over the next couple of months to identify the next leader of its economic vitality activities.
The Boulder Chamber is now launching its search for the next Executive Director of the Boulder Economic Council.
