Food, Beverage, and Hospitality Sector Grant Opportunities

Over the past two years, the Boulder Chamber has been hard at work convening companies connected to the food, beverage, and hospitality sector. Throughout our regular conversations with owners, managers, educators, and workforce professionals, several needs have risen to the surface. To assist with these needs, the Boulder Chamber has secured funds to assist with training, transportation, and apprenticeship opportunities.

The following activities are in place and ready for your participation.

ServSafe Alcohol Training

The following trainings are offered by John Balliet of Wine Dark Sea Consulting. The Boulder Chamber is currently covering costs for employees of Chamber members attending these specific trainings. Use the links below to register for preferred training.

NOTE: These trainings have concluded for this grant cycle. (02/2025)

New Apprenticeship Pathways

Currently, the Boulder Chamber is partnering with the Escoffier Culinary School and Colorado Restaurant Association (CRA) to create two new apprenticeship pathways to connect specific education and training with needs of businesses. These pathways will build upon current apprenticeship pathways offered by CRA – Line Cook, Restaurant Manager, Kitchen Manager.

New ideas include Plant-based Culinary, Pastry Chef, and Operations Management.

An apprenticeship is a paid job that combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction. Apprentices gain valuable experience as they transition from school to work. State and local officials actively support employers and new apprentices via funding and other incentives.

To ensure we’re developing pathways with the most demand we’re asking our partners to complete the following brief survey.

Incentives for Alternative Transportation

The Boulder Clean Commute pilot program is now underway! Employers in the Central Area General Improvement District (CAGID) and the Boulder Junction Access District (BJAD) can now sign up through a customized Commutifi platform online to reward employees’ sustainable work trips and receive matching funds to do so.

Launched by the City of Boulder with the Boulder Chamber and the Downtown Boulder Partnership, the Boulder Clean Commute pilot program provides cash rewards for employees who choose sustainable transportation modes to get to and from work. Sustainable modes include anything except driving alone, such as carpooling, vanpooling, taking transit, riding a scooter, walking, or bicycling.
