Connecting Schools and Industry
There are several ways to engage your local school district.
Partnering with local school districts is vital to building Colorado’s future workforce. By working with St. Vrain Valley (SVVSD) and Boulder Valley (BVSD) School Districts, businesses can help students gain real-world skills and career awareness through internships, mentorships, and project-based learning.
These collaborations align education with workforce needs, preparing students for success in high-demand industries while strengthening the local talent pipeline. SVVSD and BVSD offer accessible programs that connect businesses directly to classrooms and career initiatives.
Together, schools and employers can cultivate a skilled, innovative, and adaptable workforce that drives Colorado’s continued growth and economic vitality.
Boulder Valley School District
One of the four pillars of the GRAD+ framework is Work-Based Learning. In order to ensure success beyond high school, work-based learning experiences allow students to learn ABOUT work, learn THROUGH work, and learn AT work. Work-based learning happens along a continuum of experiences throughout a student’s PK-12 journey in BVSD.
CTE Programs at Apex provide 11th and 12th grade students with the opportunity to earn college credits and/or career enhancing certifications, a learning environment that promotes in demand career skills, all while maintaining home high school enrollment and providing transportation.
Such experiences include:
- Career Exploration Activities
- Guest Speakers
- Workplace Field Trips
- Job Shadows
- Internships
- Apprenticeships
- Industry Sponsored Projects
And so much more!

The district also implements ‘specialty project teams’, which are created to add value in the community and industry partners, as well as pioneer new ideas. Our specialty, teen designers can innovate YOUR organization's needs!
